Dolito’s pets talk: The Floor Is Too Hard

Recently Miss Dolito’s family has a new member, A-Fu, a stray dog (or I should say “a former stray dog”) who came to their neighborhood and just stayed there because the neighbors would feed him. Miss Dolito then decided to bring him home instead of simply giving him food.

A-Fu is young and energetic. It’s good but sometimes it can get distressing for they have too many animals to take care of and some of the animals are already old.

One morning, Miss Dolito’s assistant Mei almost fainted to see this:

Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Animal Shelter

In March 29, 2014, Tien-Yuan Life Care Association held the groundbreaking ceremony for our future animal shelter in Taichung, Taiwan. We have been raising funds for building an animal shelter for half a decade, and with many helps we finally accomplish the first step of our plan. pets talk: I Ran Away

I remember when I was little there was a movie about the adventure of runaway animals. I’m not sure about the whole story but I remember the animals were running away because they were about to be sent to a butchery. In real life, when it comes to ‘runaway kids’ we usually think of human, and when we saw stray animals we tend to think they’re lost or abandoned. But sure there are ‘runaway pets’ as well in real life. Dan-Dan the Schnauzer and Yorkshire Terrier mix dog is an example.

Dolito’s pets talk: Stray Dog

Recently our temple in Kaoshiung has a guest, a stray Formosan dog. Miss Dolito would give him food and water when she saw him, and she calls him Xiao-Huang.

But the other day she found Xiao-Huang had many wounds. Poor dog! She asked him, “Where did you get all these?”

pets talk: I’ll Get Used To It

It has been a rough year for Taiwanese people and animals. We’re now facing the spreading Rabies. And the biggest problem is that a lot of people panic and start to abandon their pets (especially dogs) and kill wild animals. We’re still trying hard to calm them down, and tell them not to overreact. Every one that’s working for or dedicated to helping animals is worn out. May God bless them.

Today’s story is about a sweet pet. It’s really good to see the smile during times like this.

pets talk: Several Times

201106040605

Mei-Mei the Old English Sheepdog was at least ten years old when she was taken to visit Miss Dolito. Her owner(mom) said she didn’t know the accurate age because Mei-Mei was a stray dog. It’s really sad that many people bought pets whenever there was a trend (like when animal films became popular), but threw them away later. Especially breeds like Old English Sheepdogs, their body figure was often used as excuses to abandon them.

pets talk: They Look Good

201105141208

It’s another impressing story from our charitable weekend trip with pets. This handsome mixed-breed dog is named Xiao-Pong. Two sisters took him to the weekend trip in order to know what was on his mind. He was at least 12 at that time, and he didn’t get distracted by the sound from outside their cabin; it didn’t take him long before he started to talk.

pets talk: Poor Me!

201212120304

Mico the Poodle was a handsome little guy. His owner(mother) wanted to know what he was thinking so bad that she donated to help stray animals and got a chance to visit Miss Dolito without having to wait for thirteen years.

Mico asked his mother, “I’ve got a girlfriend. I like her. Why don’t you take her here with me?” There was a new member in their family. But the owner said she was more curious about Mico.

pets talk: I Want To Talk To My Friends

201112030909

Though many people believe that cats and dogs can never get along, there are still a lot of families keeping cats and dogs at the same time. So lots of people are curious about how this works. How do cats and dogs get along? Well, I have to say, it depends. Because just like humans, every animal is different. They have different personalities; they come from different places; they go through different history.

pets talk: Stop!

201211040408

We still get lots of calls and e-mails from people who want to make an appointment with Miss Dolito, to see what their pets have to say to them. Unfortunately free pet consultation has a waiting list that ends in 2026 (so far) and most pets can’t wait that long. So Tien-Yuan Life Care Association makes an agreement with Miss Dolito that she will make some time for those who donate to help stray animals.

Wa-Wa the Schnauzer’s owner was one of those people. She couldn’t wait to know what was on her mind. And donating to help those homeless animals was also good for her. It was like killing two birds with one stone, except that no one’s gonna kill any bird.
