pets talk: I Was Jealous

I found that it’s been a long while since the last time I wrote about our charitable trip. In fact, for a lot of reasons we haven’t held this activity since 4 years ago. I miss those days though.

Shua-Shua the grey-headed parakeet died just before her owners came to attend our weekend trip. The owners brought the other pet, Cha-Cha the black-headed Caque, here but still wanted to take a chance. They showed Miss Dolito the photo of Shua-Shua, hoping to have the chance to hear her talk. pets talk: Miss the Old Time

Today I’m going to share a story which took place four years ago. Well, it feels like last month to me though. I’ll never get used to how fast time passes. When I was a child I thought only old people would feel that time flied, but now I feel that way almost every day. Does that make me old?

Speaking of old people, this cute Pomeranian dog, Jia-Jia, who was 14 when he visited Miss Dolito, was also called an ‘old man’ by his owners. He was brought here by three young girls. So while other pet owners acted like parents who brought their kids with them, these girls was acting like they brought their grandfather.

pets talk: Night Market

Amigo the Maltese was about four years old when he was brought to Miss Dolito. As soon as Amigo saw Miss Dolito, he started to complain, “I’m pissed! She had my fur trimmed like this! I don’t like it at all!” Even though we all thought Amigo looked very good, he really hated this Schnauzer style. He’s a Maltese, after all.

pets talk: Several Times

Mei-Mei the Old English Sheepdog was at least ten years old when she was taken to visit Miss Dolito. Her owner(mom) said she didn’t know the accurate age because Mei-Mei was a stray dog. It’s really sad that many people bought pets whenever there was a trend (like when animal films became popular), but threw them away later. Especially breeds like Old English Sheepdogs, their body figure was often used as excuses to abandon them.

pets talk: They Look Good

201105141208

It’s another impressing story from our charitable weekend trip with pets. This handsome mixed-breed dog is named Xiao-Pong. Two sisters took him to the weekend trip in order to know what was on his mind. He was at least 12 at that time, and he didn’t get distracted by the sound from outside their cabin; it didn’t take him long before he started to talk.

pets talk: Like Owner, Like Pet

Jan-Chan the mixed-breed dog was two years old when he was taken to see Miss Dolito. He was a Shih Tzu/Schnauzer mix. Once they came to sit in front of us, Jan-Chen lied down, his butt facing us.

pets talk: You’re Lucky

When pet owners bring their pets to Miss Dolito, we would ask them to fill in a form first, such as the pet’s name, breed, and date of birth. Many owners can’t remember in which year their pet was born and it’s actually okay because we only want to know their approximate age.

The owner(mom) of Money the Chihuahua was very cute when she was filling in the profile during the charitable weekend trip. She told us she couldn’t remember the year and when I asked her how old Money was, she screamed all of a sudden, “He’s Pig!”

I looked at her confusedly. She smiled and said, “I remember that he was born in the year of Pig!” (so Money should be about four years old when this conversation took place) And then she wrote down “PIG” on the profile. We both laughed.

Frank the French Bulldog was a very cute boy who wore his best smile all the time and was very confident in himself. Frank’s mom came to visit Miss Dolito to ask her for some advice, and Frank couldn’t wait for his turn to talk.

Finally Frank’s mom and Miss Dolito finished their conversation. Once he knew that it was time for him to speak, Frank said excitedly,  “I want a girlfriend!”

pets talk: I Want To Talk To My Friends

201112030909

Though many people believe that cats and dogs can never get along, there are still a lot of families keeping cats and dogs at the same time. So lots of people are curious about how this works. How do cats and dogs get along? Well, I have to say, it depends. Because just like humans, every animal is different. They have different personalities; they come from different places; they go through different history.

pets talk: Vegetarian

Da-Ba the Basset Hound was five when he was taken to Miss Dolito. He sat there like it was none of his business. When he finally started talking, Miss Dolito found that he spoke Taiwanese instead of Mandarin. His family nodded and said that they did speak Taiwanese at home, especially the parents.
